PENGUINSIn 1968/1969, was the penguins second season.  They came in 5th place with a 20-45-11, becoming the only team of the 6 expansion teams not to make the playoffs in either of their first 2 seasons. In their third season, they made it in the playoffs and finished in 2nd place with a 26-38-12 record. And in the playoffs, the penguins won the first two games against the California Golden Seals 2-1 before going out to Oakland and completing the sweep with a overtime goal. The penguins won their first Stanley Cup in 1991 and Mario Lemieux had 12 points and was the MVP for the playoffs.  Their next Stanley cup was the next year in 1992, and they beat the New York Islanders.  In 2005 and 2006, the penguins had gotten even better when they had gotten Sidney Crosby he would have turned the team around. And in 2006 and 2007, they got Evgeni Malkin, and Jordan Staal. And they and turned the penguins into a winning team again. In 2009 the Penguins had won their third Stanley Cup.
